London is the capital and one of the biggest financial centres in the world. The following is a list of some of London's key boroughs with detailed descriptions in helping you to suss out the right location for you in buying property.
The heart of the city of London may not entice many on first approach to finding a London property, but if you're going to be a busy city worker who cannot stand the idea of long city commutes day-in/day-out, then the city is certainly worth considering if your budget can stretch that far.
The city centre is loaded with busy shops, bars and business, not to mention the ubiquitous office building; however, these areas largely remain deserted during weekends, outside the shopping and tourist areas that is.
If it's an apartment you're after, many of the boring old office blocks and warehouses have been converted into smart new apartments as developers respond to government pressure to build on previously used inner city sites.
Bexley South of the Thames and going on towards Dartford, Bexley is definitely suburban in character and stretches from the upmarket and very neighbourly Sidcup area to the tidy new housing developments on the flat Thames marshland of Thamesmead. Much of the housing in the Bexley area dates from the war and consists of rows of terraced and semi-detached properties with good access to the centre of London.
For top of the range in this area though, the Sidcup houses are the best, while nearby Belvedere and Erith offer greater value for money.
